LABOR, by Pepe Seguí (premiere)
Based on the ideas expressed by William Morris in his lectures, and through the manipulation of objects, small automatons, and period audiovisuals, the audience is invited to reflect on how modern labor and consumer structures have been tied to forms of slavery, where individual freedom, creativity, and the sense of community have been crushed in favor of a system that prioritizes economic profit above all else.
Pepe Seguí. After spending more than ten years as a member of CaboSanRoque, with whom he created, premiered, and performed nearly ten original productions, and after more than ten years away from the theatrical—though not creative—spotlight, he began in 2022 a new phase culminating in the creation of Labor, transporting us to those fragile beginnings, far from artifices.
