APPEAR-DISAPPEAR, by Mila Ercoli

12 nov | 19 h | Graner. Centre de creació de dansa i arts vives (BCN) | Free |

Graner’s Estudi obert programme, a centre for dance and live arts creation, is collaborating with IF Barcelona to present a work-in-progress by Mila Ercoli, a Graner 2026 resident artist in the research category with her project Appear-Disappear, supported by the centre. (Estudi obert is Graner’s annual programme, which offers resident artists the opportunity to share their creative processes and present their research).

Appear–Disappear may be a light choreography, a psychomagical practice, a play on illusion and perception, an ode to the analogue or a dialogue with the cosmos. The piece emerges from research into the relationship between light, optics and crystals, which, when handled delicately, reveal another invisible dimension hidden within the visible world. On stage, a body invokes light and darkness through movement and the manipulation of materials, transforms the space and invites the audience on a journey between the visible and the invisible, between dream and ghost. Both science and ritual, Appear–Disappear opens up a space to reconsider how we see and the power of imagination.

Mila Ercoli is a Chilean multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona. Her practice moves between performing and visual arts, performance, photography and audiovisual media, exploring perception through light from a deeply analogue perspective. Her work lies at the intersection of science, illusionism, esotericism and psychomagic. Through crystals and prisms, she has developed a distinctive language that engages with light, space and perception, transforming reality and making visible what cannot be seen with the naked eye. Alongside Appear–Disappear, she is currently developing i INFINITA [Live AV], a real-time analogue visuals project.
