Manual per a éssers vius introduces an innovative language of visual theatre centered on the written text. Words — which shape the way we perceive the world — are the protagonists of the piece.
Writing and reading, as human techniques, contain perceptual codes rooted in everyday life. The playfulness with these codes determines the humorous tone of the work, which also incorporates color and light as essential aesthetic elements.

The work of La Mula, a company founded by Magda Puig Torres and Andreu Martínez Costa, is built around play and the alteration of perception.
In 2024, their show Thauma, dedicated to the capacity for wonder, was a success with both audiences and critics. They now present Manual for Living Beings, conceived as the second part of a diptych on astonishment — that experience between surprise and fascination which, according to the ancient Greeks, marks the origin of knowledge.

La Mula is a theatre company that works with visual arts, puppetry, and space, understanding the stage as a place of expression. Their work is characterized by a plastic theatre and a constant search in visual dramaturgy.

Magda Puig Torres is a creator interested in the convergence of performing and visual arts. She was an artist-in-residence at Teatre Lliure during the 2023–2024 season and, in 2023, co-directed Glatir, the 28th Winter Circus at Ateneu Popular 9 Barris, alongside Oriol Escursell.
Andreu Martínez Costa is an actor, puppeteer, stage director, and researcher. Working between Catalonia, France, and Canada, he has collaborated with companies such as Philippe Genty and El Conde de Torrefiel, and is currently an associate artist of the Franco-Norwegian company Plexus Polaire.
