BOOK PRESENTATION – EL DIOS MANIPULABLE, Sergio Artero (foreword by Toni Rumbau)

Nov 20 | 4:30 p.m. Free until full capacity | Auditorium | Institut del Teatre (Barcelona) | Free |

Puppets have accompanied humanity since time immemorial. They have functioned as psychosocial mirrors and as projections of desires and aspirations. So much so that we might think that humans have always felt the impulse to become one of them.

This book offers a transdisciplinary study—drawing on history, philosophy, anthropology, psychology, and more—and a profound reflection on the mystery surrounding puppets: these anthropomorphic and manipulable forms that can become privileged eponyms of the symbolic imaginaries of past and present societies.

A manual addressed not only to theatre and puppet professionals but also to anyone interested in the objectification of the individual and the manipulation of the community.

The book presentation will feature the author, Sergi Artero, accompanied by Toni Rumbau (author of the foreword).

Sergio Artero (Madrid, 1980) is a poet, actor, and theatre director. He holds a degree in Dramatic Arts, specializing in Gestural Interpretation and Stage Direction (RESAD), and a diploma in Philosophy (UNED).
