IF Barcelona<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>is a platform whose main goal is to\u00a0<\/span>foster and give visibility to the world of visual, object, and puppet theatre\u00a0<\/span>in all its forms.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is not a once-a-year festival concentrated in a specific venue, but rather\u00a0<\/span>a network of interconnected activities\u00a0<\/span>that feed into one another and aim to\u00a0<\/span>promote research, creation, and dissemination\u00a0<\/span>of performances, installations, and events that explore the intersection between\u00a0<\/span>performing arts, visual arts, and anthropology, embodied by puppetry and object theatre.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For this reason,\u00a0<\/span>IF Barcelona\u00a0<\/span>presents\u00a0<\/span>a range of forward-looking initiatives, with a keen focus on\u00a0<\/span>cutting-edge stage forms, generating artistic outcomes of great aesthetic and conceptual value that help\u00a0<\/span>deepen our understanding of contemporary reality.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

IF Barcelona<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>was founded in\u00a0<\/span>2015, with\u00a0<\/span>an academic symposium at the Institut del Teatre, the\u00a0<\/span>publication of the book\u00a0<\/span>Figures del Desdoblament<\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>a large exhibition, and\u00a0<\/span>a programme of international performances\u00a0<\/span>at the\u00a0<\/span>Arts Santa M\u00f2nica\u00a0<\/span>centre in Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

IF Barcelona<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>arises from the founding purpose of the\u00a0<\/span>Associaci\u00f3 Interseccions: to\u00a0<\/span>build a solid context for creation, research, and training\u00a0<\/span>in the fields of visual theatre, puppetry, and object performance.
This vocation, far from being confined to a single format, has evolved into\u00a0<\/span>a set of interrelated initiatives\u00a0<\/span>that, through continuous dialogue,\u00a0<\/span>constitute an open platform for experimentation and contemporary reflection.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Over time, this structure has taken shape around\u00a0<\/span>three main projects\u00a0<\/span>that give it coherence and purpose: the\u00a0<\/span>IF Barcelona Festival, the\u00a0<\/span>Teixidores\u00a0<\/span>thought and professional exchange days, and the\u00a0<\/span>expanded programme Objectes Perduts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
