The project brings together the festival and two initiatives with their own distinct identities that extend its reach: <strong>Teixidores<\/strong>, a meeting and reflection space for artists and the <strong>main driving force behind its internationalisation<\/strong>, and <strong>Objectes Perduts<\/strong>, a year-round programme combining <strong>presentation, creation and mediation<\/strong> and ensuring that activities continue beyond the festival.<\/p>\n<p>The festival will present around thirty projects across <strong>17 cultural venues in Barcelona, Sabadell, L\u2019Hospitalet, Santa Coloma, El Prat and Palau-solit\u00e0 i Plegamans<\/strong>. The programme includes performances, premieres, installations, residencies, workshops, laboratories and mediation projects featuring prominent artists and companies such as <strong>Romeo Castellucci<\/strong>, <strong>Cia. In a sector shaped by the constant pressure to produce, IF Barcelona revisits works, reconnects with artists, supports creative processes and strengthens a growing network of venues and collaborators. It is a commitment to <strong>artistic sustainability<\/strong> and a form of resistance to relentless production. The aim is not merely to showcase these performing arts practices, which remain underrepresented in established circuits, but to <strong>build the space, relationships and community they need to continue developing and establishing themselves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout November, this approach takes shape in a programme of national and international projects aimed at adult audiences and audiences of all ages. The festival will present <strong>24 performances, including 6 by international companies, and 3 workshops, 2 of them also led by international companies<\/strong>. With <strong>6 premieres<\/strong>, this edition reinforces IF Barcelona\u2019s role as a platform that gives visibility to new work by its resident artists and welcomes pieces just beginning their journey, while also revisiting previously premiered works and supporting their continued development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PERFORMANCES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Brossa<\/strong> hosts two of the most prominent international productions in this twelfth edition: <em>Il Terzo Reich<\/em>, by <strong>Romeo Castellucci<\/strong>, and the wild, irreverent <em>Epidermis Circus<\/em>, by the Canadian company <strong>SNAFU<\/strong>. At the same venue, <strong>V\u00edctor Colmenero<\/strong> premieres <em>Se necesita un pantal\u00f3n<\/em>, a contemporary reinterpretation of an <strong>unpublished text by Ram\u00f3n G\u00f3mez de la Serna<\/strong>. Thanks to <strong>Joan Gil<\/strong>, who gave the artist access to the text, the project brings this work back to life and explores its resonance in the present. Audiences can also discover <em>Recreativos Federico<\/em>, by <strong>Alex Pe\u00f1a<\/strong>, an installation featuring seven arcade machines that transforms the world of Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca into a space of play, humour and poetry, offering an ironic take on the consumption of artistic heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The programme also continues the festival\u2019s relationships with artists who return to share new creations and research. This is the case of <strong>S\u00f2nia G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, who presents <em>ELK<\/em> at the <strong>Mercat de les Flors<\/strong>, and <strong>Kotomi Nishiwaki and Francisco Camacho<\/strong>, who bring their new creation, <em>Emerging Still<\/em>, to <strong>La Caldera<\/strong>. At the <strong>Antic Teatre<\/strong>, <strong>AzkonaToloza &amp; amigues<\/strong> present <em>Un d\u00eda de veinticinco horas<\/em>, an approach to <em>Entre Oc\u00e9anos y mares<\/em> that offers audiences the opportunity to discover a work in progress. The programme also features the premiere of <em>Ghost in the Machine<\/em>, by <strong>Karla Kracht<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The festival\u2019s international dimension extends to the <strong>Teatre Sagarra in Santa Coloma de Gramenet<\/strong>, which hosts the <strong>International Glove Puppet Day: From Tradition to Contemporaneity<\/strong>. Facilitated by <strong>Toni Rumbau<\/strong>, the event brings together <em>Tre servi alla prova<\/em>, by <strong>I Burattini di Mattia<\/strong> (Italy), and <em>Petites histoires sans paroles<\/em>, by <strong>L\u2019Alin\u00e9a<\/strong> (France), to explore the renewal of glove puppetry in contemporary performance.<\/p>\n<p>In El Prat de Llobregat, <strong>Teatre L\u2019Artes\u00e0<\/strong> presents <em>Antipodi<\/em>, by the Italian company <strong>Dromosofista<\/strong>, and <em>Poemas dentales<\/em>, by Chilean artist <strong>Javier Mansilla<\/strong>, while <strong>La Capsa<\/strong> hosts <em>Mapa can\u00edbal<\/em>, by Colombian artist <strong>Maria Camila Sanjin\u00e9s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The festival also expands its network of collaborations PROJECTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Training has its own dedicated space within IF Barcelona<\/strong>, with three workshops offering an opportunity to explore the artistic languages and creative processes of invited artists. <strong>SNAFU<\/strong> will give a talk and lead a workshop at the Institut del Teatre as part of the institution\u2019s <strong>50th anniversary of Visual Theatre<\/strong>. <strong>Cia. Dromosofista<\/strong> will lead an intensive workshop at the Museu Internacional dels Titelles de Catalunya, while <strong>Macarena Recuerda Shepherd<\/strong> will run a workshop based on her performance <em>Si fuera una pel\u00edcula<\/em>, in collaboration with <strong>La Caldera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The festival\u2019s connection with local communities takes shape through <strong><em>El gest compartit<\/em><\/strong>, a mediation project initiated by <strong>CAP Les Hortes, the Poble-sec and Font de la Guatlla Social Services, La Comunit\u00e0ria and IF Barcelona<\/strong>. Aimed at people caring for dependent family members, the project combines trencad\u00eds mosaic, performance and object theatre to create spaces for leisure, creativity and social interaction, supported by <strong>La Gloria Factoria<\/strong> and <strong>Teatro en Movimiento Callejerx<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2922\" src=\"https:\/\/ifbarcelona.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/creacio-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"556\" height=\"365\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>IF BARCELONA RESIDENT ARTISTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IF Barcelona offers resident artists time, working spaces and support<\/strong> to develop their projects while respecting the pace of each creative process. This support also encourages dialogue with professionals and communities who help enrich the work.<\/p>\n<p>The project continues to grow through a joint creation call with <strong>Fira Mediterr\u00e0nia de Manresa<\/strong> and a residency programme developed in collaboration with <strong>El Canal de Salt, Fabra i Coats, Nau Ivanow, Convent de les Arts d\u2019Alcover and L\u2019Estruch<\/strong>, a longstanding festival partner.<\/p>\n<p>In this twelfth edition, the residency programme culminates in the premieres of <em>El temps a trav\u00e9s d\u2019un forat<\/em>, by <strong>Aina Roca Mora<\/strong>, and <em>Jo vull mirar dins del cr\u00e0ter d\u2019un volc\u00e0 quan estigui a punt d\u2019esclatar<\/em>, by <strong>Javiera Gazitua<\/strong>, as well as the inclusion of <em>CAU<\/em>, by <strong>Quim Bigas<\/strong>, in the forthcoming <strong>Objectes Perduts<\/strong> programme.<\/p>\n<p>The continuity of residencies, the return of artists and the revival of existing works reflect the festival\u2019s commitment to <strong>artistic sustainability<\/strong>: allowing works to evolve beyond their premieres, fostering new encounters with audiences and supporting creative processes that need time to grow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2921\" src=\"https:\/\/ifbarcelona.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/aina-610x407.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ifbarcelona.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/aina-610x407.jpg 610w, https:\/\/ifbarcelona.cat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/aina.jpg 693w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>TEIXIDORES: MEETINGS AND REFLECTION FOR ARTISTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From <strong>13 to 15 November<\/strong>, the professional programme <strong>Teixidores<\/strong> will bring together artists, programmers, institutions and local and international professionals for a space of exchange and reflection centred on <strong>otherness: the ability to open ourselves to what is different from us and allow it to transform our perspective<\/strong>. Connected to the festival programme, these meetings will encourage professional exchange and strengthen the international profile of artists from the region.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will include international professionals such as <strong>Ivo Bari\u0107, Yolanda Cesta Cursach, Nathalie Elain and Tim Sandweg<\/strong>, alongside a talk by <strong>Daniel G. And\u00fajar<\/strong> and contributions from other artists and professionals in the field, as well as the partner venues that help shape the festival.<\/p>\n<p>The programme begins on <strong>13 November<\/strong> at the <strong>Institut Ramon Llull<\/strong>, with an international gathering exploring how otherness transforms approaches to programming, mediation and international cooperation. On <strong>14 November<\/strong>, at the <strong>Fundaci\u00f3 SGAE<\/strong>, the focus will be on art, otherness and collaboration in the context of a hyperconnected society. Finally, on <strong>15 November<\/strong>, the <strong>Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Brossa<\/strong> will host a collective account of the meetings\u2019 reflections and experiences. In parallel, a professional itinerary will offer participants the opportunity to visit partner venues and attend IF Barcelona performances presented there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OBJECTES PERDUTS: A YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Beyond the festival dates, <strong>Objectes Perduts<\/strong> ensures continuity for IF Barcelona\u2019s activities through a programme combining <strong>presentation, creation and mediation<\/strong>. Developed in close collaboration with the <strong>Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Brossa<\/strong>, the project extends to other venues and institutions, including <strong>Antic Teatre<\/strong>, <strong>CCCB<\/strong>, <strong>Teatre L\u2019Artes\u00e0<\/strong> and <strong>Santa M\u00f2nica<\/strong>, among others. Its aim is to support creative processes, revisit existing works and keep the dialogue between artists and audiences alive.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 programme began with <em>Ja t\u2019ho vaig dir<\/em>, by <strong>Agn\u00e8s Mateus &amp; Quim Tarrida<\/strong>; <em>I Trust You<\/em>, by <strong>Vivian Friedrich<\/strong>; and <em>Saeta<\/em>, by <strong>Javier Aranda<\/strong>, as well as <em>El Gordo Ronal<\/em>, by <strong>Paula La Fea<\/strong>. During the first half of the year, the programme continued with <em>Escolarizar la pregunta<\/em>, by <strong>Pedro Sep\u00falveda<\/strong>; <em>Labor<\/em>, by <strong>Pepe Segu\u00ed<\/strong>; and <em>Artefacte mata el monstre<\/em>, by <strong>Clytemnestra &amp; Assoc<\/strong>. It also includes <strong>Resonances<\/strong>, a mediation project that will continue into 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will continue throughout the first half of 2027 with projects such as <em>ELPIS (o un pessebre d\u2019avui)<\/em>, by <strong>Irene Vicente<\/strong>; <em>Parias<\/em>, by <strong>Javier Aranda<\/strong>; <em>eine modellsch\u00f6ne ausstellung \/ una exposici\u00f3 maqueta<\/em>, by <strong>Mariona Pujol Miravent and David G. Torres<\/strong>; <em>T\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate<\/em>, by <strong>St\u00e9phane Gladyszewski<\/strong>; <em>De lluny<\/em>, by <strong>Ver\u00f3nica Navas<\/strong>; and a version of <em>CAU<\/em>, by <strong>Quim Bigas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Festival IF, Teixidores and Objectes Perduts<\/strong> thus operate as three projects within a single platform.
