FREE HANDS, by Toni Rumbau
With A Mans Lliures, Toni Rumbau concludes his Hands Trilogy, begun with A Dues Mans (1987) and continued with A Mans Plenes (2009).
This is a solo performance of shadows and puppets, born from dialogue with the previous works, revisiting and reformulating them to close the cycle with a renewed perspective. A final synthesis integrating the content of the entire trilogy.
With this new production, the puppeteer and writer celebrates fifty years of artistic trajectory.
Toni Rumbau is a puppeteer and writer, founder of the historic company La Fanfarra de Barcelona (1976–2015), Teatre Malic (1984–2002), the Pocket Opera and New Creations Festival (1993), and the digital magazines Putxinelli.cat and Titeresante.es. His shows have traveled around the world. He is also the author of novels and essays, as well as the opera Euridice i els Titelles de Caront, created with Joan Albert Amargós. He was curator of the exhibition Figures del Desdoblament (2015) and founder of the IF Barcelona festival.
