FUEGO, CAMINA CONMIGO, by Cia La Soledad (premiere)
The second piece of the Tetralogy of the Elements: after water comes fire. On this occasion, Cia. La Soledad recreates a temazcal on stage—an ancestral ceremony in which flames can embrace us without burning us.
As Byung-Chul Han points out, rituals make the universe a more habitable and trustworthy place, because they have the power to generate community and build memory. With a spiritual fire, volcanic stones, songs, and offerings, Fuego, camina conmigo proposes a reconnection with the origin of the world.
Esteban Feune de Colombi and Marc Caellas founded Cia. La Soledad in 2011. Since then, they have developed hybrid projects of expanded literature, documentary theatre, and contemporary art, presented at literary festivals, art biennials, galleries, and museums around the world. Highlights include Kosmopolis (Barcelona), Museo del Chopo (Mexico City), Balada Literária (São Paulo), MUSAC (León), Círculo de Bellas Artes (Madrid), Centro Cultural García Márquez (Bogotá), Museo de Bellas Artes (Buenos Aires), Teatro São Luiz (Lisbon), Es Baluard (Mallorca), The Wild Detectives (Dallas), and Cidade da Cultura (Santiago de Compostela).
In parallel, both authors write—together or separately—works published by publishers such as Caja Negra, La Uña Rota, Anagrama, Melusina, Planeta, Menguantes, or Seix Barral.
