THAUMA, by Cia. La Mula

After the success achieved in their previous participation in the festival, at Fundació Joan Brossa, Thauma returns to IF Barcelona, within the program of Teatre L’Artesà, to once again captivate us with its singular proposal.

In Metaphysics, Aristotle describes the concept of thauma—wonder and astonishment—as the origin of knowledge and philosophy. Conceived as a scenic poem, Thauma explores our capacity to marvel at a world we believe we already know entirely, inviting us to enter a poetic space that does not pursue a specific purpose or a defined conclusion.

Formed by Magda Puig Torres and Andreu Martínez Costa, the company La Mula works with visual arts, puppetry, and space.
Understanding the stage as a place of expression, their work is characterized by a plastic theatre language and a constant search in visual dramaturgy.
