Una idea inacabada (An Unfinished Idea) is an object theatre piece conceived for a small audience of around forty people. The action takes place inside a model of Valencia’s Rialto Theatre, a space that was once a cinema many years ago. This cinematic memory runs through the work, reminding us that looking is never an innocent gesture: cinema taught us how to frame, how to focus on a particular fragment while leaving others outside.

The piece explores this same logic: how we look, what we allow into our perception and what we reject. Because all perception is selective: we feel what we are, shaped by our history, the people accompanying us and what we choose to do with whatever affects us.

“While making the piece, we talked a lot about our fathers, those strange men with unusual gestures and incomprehensible decisions who ultimately shape the way we exist in the world. Somewhere between the comic and the enigmatic, their presence seeps into this piece like an underground thread.”

Taller Placer is a live arts collective formed by Paula Miralles and Vicente Arlandis. Since 2017, they have championed the idea that creating is about more than producing: it means generating spaces where people can be together, learn together and share a common sensibility. Their work —including pieces such as Una idea inacabada, Obra pública and Una cosa lleugera— brings together body, thought and imagination, unfolding open-ended processes that turn artistic encounters into shared and transformative experiences.
